Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How often do I have to visit the dentist?

We recommend you come to our office at least two times each year. These regular checkups allow us to prevent many common oral health concerns, and we can diagnose and treat others in their earliest stages with the most conservative treatments.

What is CEREC?

CEREC is a computer assisted design and manufacture system (CAD/CAM) that allows us to design, craft, and place dental restorations all in one visit to our Wylie, TX dental office.

Can you help me relax, if I get nervous at the dentist?

We do our utmost to help patients feel completely comfortable in our office, but we know that some patients need a little extra help remaining at ease during dental care. That’s why we offer a wide array of sedation dentistry options to ensure you’re comfortable and relaxed during your appointment.

At what age should I bring my child to your office?

We recommend patients bring their children to visit our team following the eruption of their first tooth or before their first birthdays. During these early children’s dentistry appointments, we’re just checking to make sure everything is developing properly and there are no signs for concern.

Should my child get dental sealants?

This is not something every child absolutely needs, but dental sealants are a fast and easy way to protect patient’s smiles from tooth decay at any age. We often recommend them for kids because they are still developing their oral hygiene skills, and may be in need of a little extra help keeping their smiles healthy.

Do kids need to visit the dentist two times a year like adults?

Yes. We recommend that kids visit with Dr. Sarah two times a year to maintain their healthy smiles. We want to avoid the need to perform more advanced treatments that can be painful or upsetting for young children, and visiting us for checkups is a great way to do just that.

Do you take my insurance?

We are happy to process and file claims for most major dental insurance plans, and we are in-network providers for many popular PPO plans. Our goal is to partner with patients to help them maximize their coverage.
